Erase and Rewind

Today’s thoughts revolve on the art of letting go and simply moving on with whatever has happened in your life, may it be a relationship turning sour (because lovers have fallen out of love), broken friendship or any unwanted events that took place. The formula: ERASE and REWIND. Go pick up the fragments of yourself, start from scratch and be whole again. As the lyrics of the song from the Cardigans goes, “Erase and rewind 'cause I've been changing my mind…”

Young, Wild and Free

 

Youth is a blessing. We can only relish its endowments once in our entire lifetime so we better live YOUNG, WILD, and FREE. If there's one thing that I hate letting go of, it would be the fountain of youth. Truly, it's good to be young and so capable. I'm only 23 yet I feel so daunted with the thought of growing old and wrinkled. But what can I do? I'm a helpless mortal bound to succumb through time. Yes, aging is inevitable but growing up is optional. So stay young, wild and free. Live each day as if it's your last.

Folks love the weekends because they get to have nights out with their chums at some local pubs. I'm no party animal and would rather stay home during Saturday nights. Well, I so love to be home. I can stay home the entire time without griping about it. So, today is another Saturday. The first one in August. I have been going through some drastic changes the past few weeks. I have officially started with my work so I don't anymore get the chance to do whatever pleases me during the week days. Thence from, I can't afford to just squander my Saturday.

I am more than glad it's Saturday again. So far, I have been looking forward to Saturdays. Saturdays have never been this special in my whole life. Now, it has become a thing that I'm itching about. There are a couple of things that I especially like to do during Saturdays.

Once they pop, you can't stop (munching). :D

1. Make popcorn sprinkled with cheese or sour cream for later's TVD marathon. 

2. Escape into the world of vamps, werewolves and hybrids.

3. Squeeze my creative juices by either blogging or doodling.

4. Switch sports channels or feed my gastronomic desire. 

5. Just laze around.

I love it how deliciously creative they can be.

To top it all, I utterly love Saturdays because I get to stay up late (such a perk for a nocturn like me), without having to drag myself out of bed on a wee Sunday morning and instead relish with my hearty lunch. This is pretty much how I enliven my Saturday. I know this sounds drab to you but I'm the humdrum type of person.

Hakuna Matata

I wish I have the disposition to take everything easy regardless of the situation I get to deal with. But that's not the case. I easily falter. When I'm between a rock and a hard place, my feet become wobbly. Well, not literally but yeah, I have the tendency to feel disconcerted in a snap. I must admit that these days are not the best ones that I have. I feel utterly terrible. Nevertheless, just like most storms, this too shall pass and I'm positive of that. We should always bear in mind that tomorrow's gonna be better (if not entirely okay). I'd rather take everything easy and try not to sweat the small stuff. Hakuna Matata as the Swahili proverb goes. So, let us not worry :) Hakuna matata! 

Meet Birdy

  

It's been ages since I last posted in this blog.I kinda miss blogging. So many things have transpired the past few months that I have not blogged, some were good (enough to tickle my heart) and some were disconcerting. Well, that's life (sigh).

I have also been addicted to the Vampire Diaries these days not only because Damon and Stefan are friggin' hot (well most of the characters are) but also because of the upbeat soundtracks. That's why I'd like to introduce to you, Birdy- a British singer. I especially like her version of Bon Iver's "Skinny Love". Birdy pretty much sounds like Sarah MacLachlan. The kind of voice that sends chills running up and down your spine. Ed Sheeran also did a cover of this song. You can check out other Birdy songs on Youtube.

Cloud 9 and College Memories

And just as I desired, I was given the breather that I inched about. It must have already been a week that I am not really bombarded with tasks and the like. The week just went by fleetingly and in a couple of days we will all be warmly welcoming March. Yipee! It’s summer! Who on Earth doesn’t love summer? When I was still a bookish student, I see summer as the freedom from all the things that school got you hooked up with, homework, requirements, you name it. What a good way to spend the day than doing anything you’d love to literally under the sun but I did not actually spend most of my summer days that way. I’m no beach bum, honey.

Paradoxically, I am used to spending summer indoors, at the rents’ crib to be exact and I am not complaining a tad about it. See? I’m a home buddy for as long as I can recall. I really don’t mind spending countless hours at home. As a matter of fact, hours go by so swiftly without realizing it. This could be the reason why I have a seemingly fair complexion though this might have also been influenced by my genetic makeup or whatsoever. I consider this the perk of staying indoors. So, if you wish you to have fairer skin, stay inside the house all the time. This is seven fold effective than the SPF in your lotion. Kidding aside let me gather my thoughts. Okay, lately I have been craving for chocolates. I have come across this chocolate brand called Patchi. This actually roots from Lebanon and is owned by Nizar Choucair. To date, there are already 140 outlets in 28 different countries. Nonetheless, I haven’t tasted Patchi yet because I rarely find this in department stores or even when I can, it seems like it would be a bit pricey so I’m gonna give this up for something inexpensive, like the local cloud9 or curly tops perhaps. These are amongst my greatest indulgence. These goodies are proudly Pinoy but these are as delectable as the imported ones. In fact, Cloud9 reminds me a lot of my college days. I remember back then that every Sunday I would do some grocery-buying (since I am staying in a dorm) and I would usually get a box of cloud9, my comfort food for the entire week. The memory of me relishing every bite of the Cloud9 freshly lingers on my mind as though it was only a few days ago but goodness gracious, it had been some 5 years ago since I was a college freshie. What I cannot forget about Cloud9 is that I usually nibble on this before I snuggle myself to bed. What a better alternative for a sleeping pill than a bar of cloud9. At the course of the day, I would just find myself reminiscing about those funny things that never fail to draw a smile on my face. 

Nothing beats a bar of cloud9. Thank you for the comfort you have extended to a friend in need. ;)

And here’s another fave…Inexpensive yet the taste of it tickles my palate. 

Sogno d’Italia

I would definitely love to raise my own Mediterranean garden someday. 

These past few days, I quite feel uneasy due to several reasons. I’m bothered by a couple of things. But I am trying to manage them in the best way that I can. I certainly am trying to keep my composure even in the most stressful and extremely demanding situations. I just somehow want to feel relaxed and keep calm in the midst of life’s twist and turns. I have been working weeklong since last week and I utterly want to have a day of reprieve and simply do the things that I would love to during my pastime. Whenever I can, I would certainly love to update my blog regularly so as to keep track of what I am up to in this mundane world. 

Lately, I have completely been hooked up with a local television series and its upcoming episode was shot in Italy. Heavens! Italy is one of my favorite places on earth! One of these days, when I have enough resources to travel, I certainly am visiting Italia. In fact, I have already learnt a few Italian phrases just so whenever I get the chance to set foot at the place, communication wouldn’t be much of a barrier and traveling to Italy would be a more enjoyable experience. In fact, I even planned on staying at least a month or so in the place, whenever given the chance. I simply want to discover every breathtaking nook there is in Italy. I am deeply in love with Italy and the culture itself. I am totally enchanted by its quaint charm and beauty. Thus, whenever I get tired of a day’s work, I usually just take a look at these splendid views, gracefully painted by God’s hands, just like a masterpiece in a canvass. 

And at twilight time, a breathtaking view, so vibrant with dancing lights, would greet me from my veranda. This is Spoleto, Umbria at dusk.

It would also be perfect to spend lazy afternoons in this outdoor Italian cafeteria. (Cremona, Lombardy)

Above all, I don’t want to miss a visit to the Fontana di Trevi (Trevi Fountain) at the heart of Rome. Every tourist shouldn’t miss the awe-inspiring Roman architecture. Do not also forget to throw out a coin into the fountain. This is a tradition for every traveler because doing so would ensure a return to Rome. This isn’t something I would miss because I definitely would want to keep coming back to Rome and the rest of Italy. Viva L’Italia!

Milk Tea Madness

It's been ages since I last updated my blog and I must admit it that I quite missed blogging on laid-back days like this. I love that carefree feeling, that moment when you are the master of your time. The past couple of months had been really grueling. It was like living by numbers. I wake up from meager hours of slumber, take the bus to the next city and go on duty at the hospital. I was juggling several things at a time, having my apprenticeship at the hospital at the same time having writing commitments. I even barely have the time for myself during days off. I am utterly stressed. I missed those times when I can just squander time reading a good book and getting curled up on the sheets. Well, I didn’t really find that a waste of time because I am learning something.

It’s the weekend and I have the luxury of time to spend it my way. Each of us has our own ways of spending the weekends. As for me, I don’t mind staying home the whole time, spending long stretch of hours on my desk doing some writing tasks or simply blogging, just like this.

Lately, I have been indulging much on green tea. My aunt sent me this green tea coming from the east (I guess) and I find it pretty effective. It absolutely is doing its tasks. It speeds up my metabolism and helps me cope up with constipation. I am convinced that I am suffering from irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). It’s this condition that you experience abdominal cramps and along with that bloated felling especially when under a great deal of stress. IBS also makes you suffer from alternating periods of diarrhea and constipation. Okay. That’s pretty much about IBS. Let’s talk about tea. I have been really craving for milk, something creamy and velvety on the mouth. And with this, I have made myself a discovery. Well it’s not really rocketscience or something. It’s pretty nifty that you can do this effortlessly. For those who love a cup of tea, why don’t you bring flavor to it by adding milk? Milk tea it is! You can use any type of tea for this. All you have to do is pour a cup of boiled water and soak a tea bag. You can then add coffee creamer to it to give it that light, creamy color. If you want, you can add condense milk instead of a creamer then add sugar to taste. Cold water may be added if you want to drink the milk tea right away. So, this is pretty much it. Right now, I am also enjoying a cup of homemade milk tea. This is just perfect for a cold, rainy night like this!
